    CRIME on the ROAD

A BIG discussion is going on about the crime on the road right now..
There are robberies of truck drivers-Stolen and cut off Diesel Tanks or even the hole truck get stolen..
Last couple weeks a sniper keep Germany in fears..He shoot on Car Hauliers while driving..

MY QUESTION IS: DID YOU EVER GET ROBED TO SOMETHING FROM YOUR TRUCK HAS BEEN STOLEN..
AND WHAT CAN WE DO TO PROTECT OUR SELF....

    Hoping for many replies...

Things like that happen here as well. I nearly got held up at a truckstop outside Chicago years ago. One of our company trucks was stolen in Houston 3-4 years ago. I know that Trucker Steve had his laptop stolen a year or 2 ago. I just make sure to hide my valuable stuff and not show it off before I go into the truckstop for a couple of hours.

    Great topic Andy!

As you know Andy its the same on the Belgian roads. I drove international in the past and i was a victim of theft. Little things like fuel and cargo theft. But never experienced bad things. Luckily. What we can do about it. I do not know but the government remains their heads in the sand stabbing and that must change. They must provide camera surveillance and security companies on.

IT happens all over Andy. I have had 2 of my trucks broke into. Once my CB was stolen and another time they smashed out a window but was lucky enough to not have anything stolen. Ohhh there also was a time when I was at the yard cleaning trucks. I parked the last truck of the day and found out it was stolen that night!! It was found driving down the highway about 400km's away from our shop. One of our drivers behind the wheel. He was offered a job if he owned his own truck. I guess he thought he would just take a truck and go to work on his own!! What a dumbass!! lol Great topic Andy!

Hi there. here in norway we experience this days that foreign truckers, from the east of europe, steel our chains we use on the tires to go hillclimbing on ice and snow. This happens often when we stay for our rest and sleeping. This is has been a so big problem that we have too locked this chains to our trucks. Never happend before!

I just got my truck broken into about a month ago while I was at home, stole my CB,GPS and some other things.

Never had much of a problem on the road (knock on wood). At home I park the truck in the driveway. Sucks people have to prey on others instead of just getting a f'in job and buying their own crap!

Never had anything or stolen, but my pickup had it's dually fender smashed while parked in a county civil service building lot.
It's better keep your mouth shut and give them the impression you're stupid then it is to open it and remove all doubts.
